At the November Board meeting, the tentative property tax levy was adopted with an estimated school tax rate of 2.716. We continue to enjoy a low tax rate compared to other school districts, as all of our neighbors have school tax rates that are 50%-120% greater than ours. Other relevant information:

Our elementary Christmas Program is Thursday, December 12, 2013. Please have students at the annex gym by 5:45. Supervision will not be available until that time.
Please plan on staying through the 30 minute (approximately) program. If you need to leave before the end of the program, please pick up your student from the classroom
where they will be, (see listing below**), and exit the building. Talking in the hallway is distracting for the other students who are still performing. This year all students are invited to perform in the grand finale!

Parents Club Meeting Minutes from September 4th, 2013
*Secretary's Report was read by Michelle McWilliams and approved
*Treasurer's Report was prepared by Tammy Tegeler and read by Michelle McWilliams and approved as is.
*Market Day Report not available.
*Movie Night scheduled for September 6th. Movie being played is Epic. Doors will open at 6:15. Tammy purchased all needed concessions.Wil will set up the screen and speakers.
*Calendar: ordered 75 calendars, presold 51 at registration, gave the remander to the Elementary School for call in orders.
*Bookfair: Middle School's bookfair made a profit of $670. Staying open until 7pm a couple of the nights did bring in traffic. It was reported by Teri Ashdown that having the bookfair on different nights at the Elementary and the Middle School worked out well for getting volunteers to work the bookfair. During the Elementary Open House the bookfair will be open from 5-7.
*Open House: at the Elementary from 5:30-6:30. We will be serving cookies at the bookfair supplied by parents.
*Concessions: Middle School Football game on Saturday September 14th 9am-5pm. Parents Club Volunteers will be staffing the concession stand. We also are going to contact NHS students to see if any are interested in helping for their community service hours. Food we will serve is: super nachos,sub sandwiches, hotdogs, candy. pop, popcorn, water, pretzels (cheese), and regular nachos. We are also having Graphic Concepts on hand to sell t-shirts with our new design and personalize them if desired. Teri and Nikki will be setting up the stand on Saturday morning as the High School has a home game on Friday night.
*Teacher Requests: 2 requests
Approved: Mrs.Teats, recorders for music class.
Approved: Mrs.Wagenknecht, area rug with defined areas for children to sit on.
*New Business: Room moms, went through volunteer forms that were returned to us and noted for each teacher who the room mom(s) will be. Those parents will be notified by a letter going home.
Date for Carnival: suggestion of March 14th was mentioned and further talk was tabled for next meeting.
*Next meeting will be Wednesday October 2nd at 5:00 in the Elementary Conference Room.
