Since its inception in 1981 with advisor Mr. William Ludwig there has been a National Honor Society (NHS) at Erie High School (EHS). This fall marks the 38th year that members have been asked to join the organization. Students in the sophomore, junior, or senior classes that have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher are issued an invitation to start the application process starting with a packet of information. Within the application packet, students are asked to list what experiences they have in leadership positions, service to the school and community, and finally any paid or voluntary work experience they have. Starting this Wednesday, Sept. 11 through Friday, October 18, the weight room will be open to the public from 6:00 AM - 7:30 AM on Monday's, Wednesday 's, and Friday's. Owen McConnell will be supervising these times.
The annual Volley For A Cure volleyball game will be on Tuesday, October 1st in Prophetstown as the Panthers join efforts with the Princeton Tigers to help raise awareness for Breast Cancer. The F/S game starts at 5:00 pm with Varsity to follow. Volley For A Cure shirts can be ordered either from one of the athletes or Julie Jones until Monday, September 16th.
