High School Highlights
High School RTI:
Response to Intervention in Reading and Math
Mrs. McConnell and Mr. Mix
~Grade 9 and Grade 10 are eligible for RTI.
~All students in Grade 9 and 10 are assessed 3x yearly with MAP testing for Reading and
Students that qualify are pulled from PE, quarterly classes, and Study hall
2-4 times per week for Reading/ Math interventions.
During Math RTI, students
work on Math skills/ reinforce daily concepts learned in Math classes.
Reading RTI, students work on fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary skills
through ReadTheory.org, Scholastic Action/Scope magazines, novel units, and
some push- in help.
All IEP and RTI students are progress monitored monthly via Math MAP
Screening and Star Reading.
A student is placed in RTI if:
~ scored below cut- off scores
~ ”on watch” score recommended by a teacher
~ low scoring students not placed in RTI are progress monitored
