TALL TALE WRITING CONTEST: The goal of the contest is to have students writing in the summer, showing students’ creativity, focusing on our local heritage and history, and having fun. The winning stories will be published on the aroundptown.com website and winners will receive a cash prize of $50.00. The task is to write an original tall tale. Come up with your own larger-than-life character who lives in our area and is the hero saving Erie, Albany, Fenton, Spring Hill and/or Prophetstown, Lyndon, Tampico from a disaster. Be sure to include hyperbole (exaggeration) that makes it a tall tale and funny. There will be separate prizes for ECUSD#1 and PLT#3 students and there are 3 age categories - 3rd & 4th grades, 5th & 6th grades, and 7th & 8th grades.
