Due to the weather, all practices for today have been canceled.

The boys basketball regional game tonight has been moved to tomorrow night due to the weather. It will be held at West Carroll Middle School with a 6:00 start time.

Due to the impending winter storm, Erie CUSD 1 will be cancelled Thursday February 16. No E-Learning, this is a traditional snow day that will be made up at the end of the school year.

Due to the excessive heat index, today's MS football practice has been canceled.

Today's boys golf meet has been canceled due to part of the course being unplayable. They will practice today from 3:30-5:00.

MS football practice for today has been canceled.

Because of the weather and the park being very muddy, today's MS cross country practice has been canceled.

Erie CUSD 1 will be on a 2 hr delay on Friday, January 7 due to the frigid morning temperatures. There will be no AM preschool.

Erie Schools will be on a 1 hour delay on Thursday, January 6, 2022.

Due to high winds and drifting rural roads till late this afternoon, Erie CUSD 1 will be closed January 5, 2022. All extracurriculars and practices are cancelled. This is a traditional snow day, no remote learning.

Erie Schools will dismiss at 1 p.m. today March 15. Afternoon Preschool, vocational classes, and evening activities are cancelled.

Due to the icy roads we will have a two hour delay today. There will be no AM preschool.

Starting October 5th, Kindergarten - 8th grade students will return to in-person instruction 4 days per week. Starting October 19th, 9th-12th grade students will return to in-person instruction 4 days per week. Pre-school students will remain in their current schedule and Wednesdays will remain a remote learning setting for all students. The Erie School Board of Education and administration are closely monitoring the Covid-19 statistics in our district, community, and surrounding areas. Covid statistics will be posted and evaluated weekly. Depending on the direction of the numbers, a special board meeting may be required prior to the regular scheduled meeting on September 30th to discuss progression. The following information is a brief breakdown of statistics as of 9/15/2020.
Total Covid Positive Cases in ECUSD #1: 4
Total Students Quarantined: 30
Total Staff Quarantined: 6
61250 Total Cases Reported: 18 Positive Cases (516 Erie Residents Tested)
Whiteside County Total Cases: 643 Positive Covid Cases with 20 deaths
The Northern Region Update (updated with information on the week ending 9/13/2020): This region includes Boone, Carroll, Dekalb, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside, and Winnebago: The region has seen 3 days of positivity increases in the last 10 days and one day of hospital admission increases. The current positivity rate for the Northern region decreased slightly to 6.3%. The medical surgical bed availability increased to 43% (threshold is 20% for more intense mitigation methods) and the ICU bed availability increased to 46%.
The state's seven day rolling positivity average dropped to 3.6%

Online registration is currently available via Skyward. No matter what learning option you choose, all ECUSD #1 students need to register. A google form will be available after the board meeting next week for parents to choose their learning option. Pre-school parents do not need to register those students. For incoming Kindergarten families, if you do not have a skyward account, please contact the Elementary office at 309-659-2239 ext. 1211.


Preschool Screenings will be held on Thursday, August 13th. Preschool Coordinator Erin Eckberg will be contacting parents of incoming preschoolers to schedule screening times. We only have two time slots available that day, 8:45 and 10:00am. Please call Erin at 217-416-6851 to schedule an appointment. Face masks will also be required and only one parent will be allowed to accompany the child.


Attention Panther Athletes - We are continuing our morning workouts this week. As soon as the IHSA confirms their Phase 2 “Return to Play” guidelines, you will receive more updated information. We can assure that we won’t be taking any steps backwards. Those that have come have put in some awesome, dedicated, hard work and all of the coaches truly appreciate it. For those athletes that have only come once or twice, or maybe not at all yet, we’d love to have you join us. Times and locations haven’t changed - Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings from 8-9:15 in both Erie and Prophetstown on the tracks.
